Private Schools of the Future
A Year-Round-School Schedule For the Vacation-Minded Family, Available Today
Imagine a school schedule that allows you to visit resorts, National Parks and foreign countries when most families are in school and at work. Why pay peak-demand prices, when you can vacation for much less, at off-peak dates?
Private schools of the future will allow such benefits. By simply advocating for more school choice, and more educational freedom, you too can afford uncrowded family vacations at Disneyland and Waikiki Beach.
With a year-round-school schedule, you can conveniently pull your new RV into Yosemite, Zion and Grand Canyon National Parks, while others are sweating the crowds during peak-demand dates. Don’t follow the herd. This is your life. Make the best of it.
Even today, these luxuries are available to you. Thales Academy in North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee and South Carolina, offers a year-round schedule for the vacation-minded family. With three, 3-week breaks each year, and one, 6-week summer break, you no longer have to deal with massive TSA lines and crowded RV parks. Relax, save money and enjoy quality time with your family.
How about a ski trip to Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia, Canada or a cultural adventure in Chillan, Chile? You now have three weeks off in March, and another three weeks off in September and October.
Rather than the few, exorbitantly-priced, private-school options available to you now, imagine living in a community with dozens of affordably-priced private schools. What pedagogy, vacation schedule, and amenities would you like to see in your school? Comment below.
Now imagine attending that school. That can be your reality.

This post is inspired by Virginia Postrel’s book The Power of Glamour, and Elle Griffin’s Substack The Elysian. I have no business affiliation with either of these individuals or Thales Academy. I am simply a dad and husband offering a free Substack newsletter.
I’m so here for this idea! Year round school should be the norm. Also async school too! (My niece was given such a hard time for going on vacation for a week. How hard can it be for a third grader to catch up? Just give her some work she can do while she is away!)
